Measuring the Nonlinear, Lossy, Frequency-dependent Voice Coil Inductance

New Paper: Insights into the nonlinear inductance of electrodynamic drivers

In our latest study, we dive deep into the complexities of electro-dynamic transducers and how the nonlinear inductance can significantly impact the audio quality. Traditional point-by-point methods require multiple small signal measurements to capture the nonlinear frequency-dependent inductance.

Applying a novel, fast, full dynamic measurement method, a single large signal measurement that takes only a few seconds can quickly identify the parameters for a nonlinear dynamic inductance model. This breakthrough approach simplifies the measurement process, provides results with minimal effort, and opens new possibilities for improving the voltage sensitivity, efficiency, and overall audio quality of transducers.

Discover all the full details in our recent paper. Let’s take your transducer testing to the next level and discover the new speaker model that is the basis of our new KLIPPEL R&D module Fast Large Signal Identification (FLSI Pro)! A pre-release version is available now.
